Yarn Candy

I know lots of folks are swearing off buying new yarn in favor of knitting from their stashes. I can see the good points of this, even if only followed for a few weeks or months. I am an advocate of living simply.

However, I am not officially joining the group, as designers have to get yarn, sometimes on the spur of the moment, when inspiration hits. Just sayin'. Getting one ball of yarn for a swatch may not even be against the rules of the group. But just in case, I am staying way the hell away from the Knitting from my Stash members.

That said, here is some yummy yarn candy, taken from my stash (all acquired previous to 2007), all destined for new projects.

I love yarn, too - so much so that instead of swearing off buying yarn, I swore off buying fiber 'til April 1. There's no way I'd be able to stay away from sock yarn for three months!

You have a beautiful collection - thanks for sharing some of it!

I'm not swearing off anything! :) I hate failure, and I know I'd fail miserably if I ever promised not to buy more yarn or spinning fiber.

Love your patterns, by the way, and I'm so glad you are now blogging.

Ooooh, Sivia, your blog is most welcome! I'm so glad you started one, and I look forward to more. How fun for we readers to start at the beginning. Love the yarn candy -- the Flickr feature is nice.

I can't wait to see what it all becomes! You're stash looks like everything I'd pick - we'd be duking it out in the aisles if we were shopping together - so it will be fun to watch!

Goodness, those photos are enough to make anyone fall off the "knitting from stash" bandwagon!

Welcome to the blog world! I too struggle with the stash knitting thing--just found out Friday that I'm being sent 6? new skeins of yarn. Oops. Now, if you don't pay for the yarn, does that count? I still wish for a little downsizing, though I am attached to every single skein, my office is packed overfull of yarn and fiber!

Ooo so beautiful!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who isn't quite going to swear off all the yarn in the universe. :)
