Yes, procrastination continues to happen as the deadline for the TNNA trunk show mail-off looms very near...
Saturday was FibreFest International, at nearby Abbotsford, and two friends escorted me away from duties and responsibility into the fantasy world of fibre...
Where I purchased this:
a Kromski Sonata folding wheel. She is beautiful and I love her. I think we will be getting along just fine!
I also purchased these:
The bottom two are topknots from Aurelia Wool, lovely little bite-sized confections that are perfectly sized for socks or a hat. Charming, eh?
The one in the last picture has been split into two parts, one that I think is Aurelia's "licorice all-sorts" colorway, black with brights, will be one ply, and the other, strips of soft lilac and purple roving, will be ply #2. Here is what the black combo looks like on the bobbin:
I am just having way too much fun.
However, knitting for the trunk show is also happening, thank goodness. I have a new-to-me yarn on the needles that is gorgeous, Mini Maiden by Handmaiden Fine Yarns, and for a special treat, I am using the new lace Addi Turbos. Pictures will be forthcoming soon, I promise...

It's all so gorgeous! You almost have me wanting to spin (hee - I wrote that first as "sin"). Almost. ;)
yeah! a new wheel!
Did you buy any yarn? Did you get anything from the Indigo Moon booth? I bought a bunch of bambu 7. Don't know what I'll use it for...
How do you like your Addi Lace needles? I have 2 but haven't tried them out yet.
The Sonata looks like she is right where she belongs, and the licorice all-sorts looks good enough to eat! I'm so happy that you are spinning again.
I have spun on a Sonata and it is lovely. Someone in my spinning group has one. I think it is very well engineered.
A new wheel sounds like a lovely treat. And, the new fiber will keep it from getting hungry. Happy spinning!
Nice haul Sivia! Congrats on the new wheel.
Yesssssss! A wheel!!!!
I live in a small apartment too, with a kid. And I have two wheels, one of them antique. So, not foldable. It SO can be done. You're going to have an absolute blast, Sivia...
Actually, there are three wheels in my apartment. Don't tell anyone. I figure since two of them are the same kind and one of them doesn't belong to me, I can say I only have two.
Nice wheel, Sivia! I'm happy for you. I love the cheery colors in your handspun, and I'm glad you have a wheel that fits your space and feels right to you. Happy, happy spinning.
Beauty!! Congratulations on your new wheel!
I guess that we will know what you are doing when we look to see your new posts and there isn't one!
I spun yesterday....AHHH!
Enjoy ;)
Congratulations on the new wheel! It's a beauty for sure! I love those top knots from Aurelia Wool! You are so lucky, I wish she would come down for Black Sheep Gathering in Oregon sometime!
