Periwinkle Forest

I finished and blocked the Norwegian Woods scarf last night. Even though she is still damp and pinned, I had to show her to you in all of her beauty.

Periwinkle sea silk... mmm, yeah. The scarf took about 470 yards, which makes it perfect for one skein of malabrigo lace, but unfortunately just slightly over one 100 yd skein of sea silk. For beads, I used size 8/0 silver lined crystal triangles from Earth Faire. The pattern is mine... to be released sometime in the very near future.

Sivia, it's just beautiful!
And I'd love to do it in Sea Silk... but the 400 meter skein is an almost? Mini Maiden has 500 m. to 100 grams...

Hi Melissa,

One skein of mini maiden would be perfect. What color did you have in mind?

Wow! The scarf and shawl are both strikingly beautiful. The fluttery eyelet edging is a lovely contrast to the strength of the pattern as a whole. Love it! Looking forward to the pattern.

That is very gorgeous. I LOVE periwinkle. That name of my yarn shop was Periwinkle Sheep. I will need to make that shawl as soon as the pattern becomes available. Where do I purchase?

Hi Karin,

I will know more as time gets closer to the release of the pattern. But you will always be able to purchase from me :-)

This is wonderful - I love the colour (I am a sea silk addict myself... I have Handmaiden flaxen in that colour). You have totally converted me to wannabe lace knitter status, you know!

Yummy Yum YUM!!! It's absolutely delicious to look at! I really like how the light dances off the changing stitch patterns...I'm sure the Sea Silk has something to do with that :-) I look forward to knitting the pattern. It might make for a fun KAL this summer????
